Did I really post this?

Seriously, I told you I would post a little something later on today about our "Landfill/Dump" experience...and I wasn't kidding...It was not something I want to do again anytime soon...but considering that we are still in the cleaning process around here, we may have to enter the "Dump Zone" again, one more time....=) This is a picture of the landfill that I took yesterday...It blew me away...this was only one section of this huge "business of trash"...I can't believe that people have made dumping trash into a business....I was amazed at how big this facility was, and it somewhat bothered me. I just can't believe that we have created a place in our world, just to dump things...Obviously that means that we have too many things, if we have THIS much trash...Where did the Indian's and the Pioneers of our country put all their trash? I am assuming that they didn't have any Styrofoam coffee cups, or old washing machines that they needed to get rid of....
And they charge for you to dump certain things in certain places....the wood goes in one place, the appliances in another, and there is a certain part where they weigh your truck prior to dumping and then after and charge you according...We had to pay $18 to dump our 2 truckloads of stuff that we departed with yesterday....(It felt good to get rid of so much stuff though-Our basement looks SO much better already) James and I don't think you have to have a very high education to work here either (hope no one works at the landfill, if so, I apologize) But the friendliness of the staff was much to be desired...they weren't very helpful in guiding us through this process...We didn't know where to go, how to weigh the truck, that our trash had to be divided, and most importantly....it is a state law to "Tarp our Load". And we broke the law...We drove an untarped load...Ha ha...I have laughed and laughed over this line....Believe me, after the lady with no teeth, advised us of this tidbit of info...I will never again drive an untarped load...It will forever be embedded in my mind....well, just thought I would share this experience with you in case you have never gotten to partake in such an interesting outing....

good night.

Hahaha, I found this so funny Cassie...We have a "Dump" or a Mini Landfield about 6-7 miles from our house...These people or SO RUDE, and do not have teeth either! They must be related, before we got "Roll-it's" and had to take trash to the dump, I hated the thought of seeing these people!!! but If I had to smell trash all day, I might be hateful too! (hahahahaha)

Apparently you have not seen the bumper stickers that say "Covered Loads Equal Clean TN Roads". I cannot believe you guys went untarped like that. What is wrong with you all? hahahhahaha I bet next time you will tarp up before you go!

If I find one of those bumper stickers somewhere, I will definitely get one for James so he will not make that terrible mistake again.

And think about it---if you had no teeth AND worked at the landfill too, wouldnt you be kind of irritable? hahahaha Not to mention the fact how you would smell when you got home in the evenings.

Wow! That is a lot of freaking garbage! Do they eventually smash it all down, or what? Poor washing machines and fridges and teethless women...with no one to love them. :)

Nothing like a good chastising from a toothless person to burn that moment forever into your memory! ha, ha, ha

That is one large garbage heap. Every week when J sees the Garbage Men do the rounds and he cheers them on and they wave at him, I am so thankful that somebody wants to pick up the garbage. I know that I for one would not like to, but these guys do it in all sorts of nasty weather and they do it with a wave and a smile for the kids.
