He is There

I read a devotion this morning that made me think...(that could be scary, I know=) I think sometimes we go through our busy days....working, getting the kids here and there, cleaning the house, doing laundry, chores, running errands, dinner, baths, homework, bedtime..The really mundane tasks that we "do" on a daily basis...and we forget...HE is there...We are HIS children...I try to imagine how he feels when we ignore him. We get up, fix breakfast, get the kids out the door...and start our days...without even talking to Him...Can you imagine if our children did that to us? Just ignored our presence in their lives....Ignored the fact that we love them more than anything in this world....and they just continue on their ways, as if we are NOT there....I think many times we do that to our Lord....I have been making an effort to spend time with him...talk to him through prayer...He wants to spend time with us...even if we don't realize it....He is ALWAYS there....One of the verses that my 4 year old memorized a few weeks ago...sums this up perfectly-
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:20

I have posted before about how there are times when I just ignore Him because I am 'too busy'.....thankfully He wasnt too busy to die on the cross for me.

Good point. I'm glad you pointed this out so that we can all start our day off right.

You are so right. And to put it this way is wonderful. I think one reason God blesses us with children is so that we can see more of His character. There are so many different ways I see Him now that I just didn't before being a parent myself.

I drove by your bee-filled flower field this morning. And I thought, "How pretty." But I never would have thought to get a picture there. That's why you're the photographer and I'm not. It's in the details!

Comparing it to your children ignoring you is so profound. You are so right. Thanks for reminding me!
