Extraordinary Weekend

I attended the Extraordinary Women's Conference this weekend with my friends, Christy and Tanja...I really enjoyed spending some quality time with some special people...There is nothing like getting together with Christian friends and worshipping our Lord...This weekend was phenomenal...lots of wonderful speakers and talented musicians....I thoroughly enjoyed myself...It is amazing to me how God knows when we need to be lifted up, and when we need to just simply feel his presence...I requested off from work for this conference months ago...not knowing who I would get to go with me, or what would be going on in my life at the time...But God knew...He knew that I would be tired...He knew that this past week doing "the family things" on my own while James has worked nights would be difficult...He knew that my schedule would be conflicting with other activities that life just throws in the way...He knew that I needed this conference...I needed to spend some time with other women...and more than anything He knew that I needed to spend some time with Him....My Father....Sometimes during my crazy life of running 3 children around...He just gets lost in the busyness...not intentionally...no...I wouldn't want that to happen...It just does...

There were some wonderful speakers this weekend..that really touched my heart...I laughed...I laughed a lot...I cried...did that a lot too....It is so good to listen and know that I am not alone...Other women are doing the same things...going through the same things...but even though it can be tough...our God is right there ALL THE TIME....

A few of the speakers were Jennifer Rothschild, Thelma Wells, Chonda Pierce, and Lisa Whelchel (Yes, Facts of Life fans...that was Blair!!) but one of the things that touched my heart the most was the worship...It is unbelievable to be in an arena such as we were....with women singing, lifting up their hearts and hands to God...It brought me to tears....more than once....

Mark Schultz also sang, and he is one of my favorite Christian Singers...and James too ( I know he was jealous because I got to see him for a 2nd time) But this was one of the songs he sang...it makes me cry every time!! So have a Kleenex ready....

There is a lot of thinking for me to do, and soaking of all the wonderful things that I heard this weekend...Our revival starts tomorrow at church...and what better way to get my heart and mind in the right place...

Thank you Lord for allowing me to attend this conference this weekend..thank you for letting me go with 2 wonderful Christian women that I admire, and look up to...Thank you for keeping my family safe while we were away from each other this weekend...for being with James and Macey as they traveled to Knoxville, and for being with my parents as they watched the boys...Thank you for letting me see you...feel your presence...I needed that...and I thank you for it...I love you Lord...Amen...
Good night...=)

I am jealous! There was a huge group of women that went from our church (my friends, my mom), but my husband was working this weekend and I didnt have anyone to keep the boys for all that time. My mom said it was great. Glad you had some good Daddy and me time.

I bet you guys had a great time!
Lots of great speakers and singers.
I thought about going to that myself, but I never checked back into it. Shame on me!!!
What a great way to get prepared for a wonderful week of revival.
