Glory and Honor

My children have the funniest way of blessing me. It ceases to amaze me that when I least expect it they can come up with some of the most amazing things to say or do. I have been blessed with a double whammy this morning....I worked last night, so needless to say, that always makes for a difficult morning...on my end...

Cade had to wear red, white and blue in honor of those who lost their lives during 9/11. I was almost brought to tears listening to him explain to me what happened on this day. He has learned about respect, and "remembering" those who have passed. Hearing this from him was precious. The reason for our little "photo shoot" of him in his patriotic shirt. I wanted to share this moment with my blogging buddies...=)

My other blessing came from my daughter. She is one amazing girl. God is going to use her in big ways...I can feel it. I think he actually already is. She came up to me this morning and asked me if she could take her Bible to school. Of course I didn't mind, but did ask her what she was wanting to do this for. She proceeded to tell me that the other day on the bus, she was reading a book to Cade(that he had brought for show and tell) that was about Daniel and the Lions Den. This little girl had never heard this story. Macey explained it to her. She told her that Daniel would not bow down and worship anyone or anything but his God. She told her how he was thrown into the Lion's Den, and how God protected him from the Lions. She was amazed that everyone doesn't know this story. Macey said to me, "Mommy, my friend, doesn't go to church. I really want to show her in my Bible what Daddy showed me the other night about Jesus." Wow. Could we all take a lesson from a child? To be so obedient. He tells us to Go and Tell, and we just sit back and let others do that for us. Pastors. Sunday School Teachers. Youth Ministers. Believe me, I am talking to myself too. Just the other night, I completely passed up and opportunity to share Christ with a co-worker. The moment was there, and I just let it pass me by. Knowingly. We need to share with others what the Lord is doing for us and in our lives. Who knows? We may be a light to someone who is searching for exactly what we have to say. Lord, in all ways, this morning, I want to give you the glory and honor.

The innocence of a child is so precious. I know many times I have shyed away from sharing about my Lord to others. I have always explained it as being afraid of what they would say, what I would say, or they will make fun of me. But over the years I have learned that we need to face the world as an innocent child, with no fear of what the world would think of me. So what if I talk about things that they may not want to hear. So what if they think of me as stupid. What counts is what the Lord thinks of me. I have asked the Lord to help me be Bold and He has placed me in many situations where I had to share. In the end I felt good. Regardless what that person thought or felt I had planted a seed and the rest was for God.
