Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

Today we headed to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island....We had a great day...beautiful weather, plenty of sunshine...until we headed back to the apartment...when we got soaked by a short little downpour....Visiting the Statue of Liberty was one of the things on my "list" of things I want to do in my life....so one more thing, I can check off...Here are the kids in line for the ferry....
Here is the ferry that we rode to Liberty Island....Here she is...The Statue of Liberty...I took A LOT of pics today...I just posted a few of them....James and the kids in front of the statue....a view from the ferry..... edited version.....Me and the kids...Loved this angle...It was SO windy on the island...all of our hair had the windblown look....lol....A close up of the torch......and the perfectly blue sky.....After spending a couple of hours on Liberty Island, sitting in the grass, and simply enjoying the view..the weather, and the moment....which was surreal to me....we headed over to Ellis Island, and explored the Museum...very interesting....the kids had studied about this in school...so they really liked it...We headed back to the ferry right before a downpour of rain....perfect timing....
We came back to the apartment, and cooked dinner, and played UNO until the kids fell asleep one by one....they were so tired...I am heading there too...God Bless...Have a good night...Love and miss you guys.....much...

Cassie, I am so glad that you are having such a GREAT time in NYC!!!!We miss you here so much but I am glad that you are giving your daughter the chance to fulfill her dreams. (A once in a lifetime opportunity that, if I was in your shoes, I would not even think twice about dropping everything to spend this precious time with my daughter) It sounds like she is doing great--I hope that she has continued success for all the go sees that she has. This is the first time that I have visited your blog--bad me!!! I will try to revisit and comment often. God Bless you and your family for being so STRONG in God's Will. Your faith is truely an encouragement to me because I am really struggling with working every Wednesday night and Sunday's. My husband may be up for a promotion and if he gets it then I am dropping Sundays so that I can go to church for the FIRST time in about 5 years (so please pray for us too!!!) Take care and God Bless. Your Friend in Christ (and work)---Kim Hogston

I am so excited for you! Let me tell you something I learned about the Statue of Liberty.... If you take a helicopter ride and you see the top of her head, you will see that every hair is in place, detailed perfect. Gives us a sense of why we should always do our best - even if no one is looking.. because at some point in time, someone might see our work... And we always want to be proud and stand behind it!
