AMTC Days 4 and 5 (Yes, we have been BUSY)

So much for my attempt to "blog daily"...oh well, yesterday just ruined those plans....We started out at 7:45...and didn't finish up last night until almost 2 am...It has just been crazy...but so much fun....We attended lots of seminars yesterday concerning our "Interview Day" today, "What to do After Convention", ect...plus Macey's runway competition....She did a phenomenal job and we were just so proud of her...Words can't explain....I sit here, and look at this screen, and try to put into words how unbelievable this experience has been, and I just can't seem to do it.....I just want us to remember this and all the things that we have taken away from it....It is valuable knowledge for all us....Self esteem, self confidence, positive attitudes...the good attributes that they keep on talking about are things we all need to push towards being in our daily lives....at least I want to....Last night was the big "Singing and Dance Talent Show", and it was such fun...The talent that was portrayed on the stage last night blew us away....We enjoyed it so much, even the boys...Ian was especially impressed with the Hip Hop dancers....and Cade too....

After the show, Stephanie, our director, told us she would meet us around 9pm to "wait on callbacks"....(After all the competitions are over, the agents/managers/casting directors give lists to the AMTC staff, and they print letters with a copy of each contestants callback on it...) I took the kids on back to the room to get in bed, and James waited with our group, Direct Knoxville, for our callbacks.....One of the teens, Josh, has been doing a Bible Study each night, and James attended this.....well, 10 pm, 11pm, 12 midnight....James came back to the room, and said it would be around 1 before Steph had the callbacks in hand, so he came to the room for an hour....(we could have waited until 8am to get them...but we were too excited...and wanted to know....) So, finally around 1:40 he came back to the room with a letter folded up in his hand..with Macey's name on it....Steph had requested no one in our group talk about callbacks to each other, and that no one read them until they got back into their room....To prevent anyone from getting hurt feelings, ect....Well, we opened the letter to see that Macey had received 3 callbacks....two agents from New York, and one from Los Angeles.....We were ecstatic...We were going into this with the attitude that she wouldn't get any...so to get 3 was awesome....Sleep was hard to come by...and finally around 2:30 we fell asleep.....

We got up early Sunday morning...6:30 to be exact...to attend a Sunday Worship Service....The spirit in the room was full of nothing but worship and praise....God is so much a part of this convention...We consider ourselves so blessed to be able to attend....Praise music on a Sunday morning is exactly what we needed to get our hearts and minds in the right place for our "Callback day"....After our service, it was time for SpeedNetworking....This is where ALL the agents (over 70) were present in the Exhibition Hall of the Resort, and each contestant could stand in line to meet/greet/interview with them for one minute....It is a fast way of networking, and getting your Comp card/headshot in the hands of some well known film/modeling agencies....Only one parent was allowed in the room, due to crowd control...so James chose me to go....I was a little apprehensive at first, because I am not a good "crowd person" but after standing in line for our first agent...and getting such a positive response....I was fine...Macey did all of the interviews herself...She introduced herself, and then she introduced me...I was so proud of her speaking capability, and her maturity for her age...I could just cry as I type this, thinking about how well she did today....We were instructed to ONLY meet with agents that we didn't recieve callbacks for, so that is how we did it...We met with a couple of local agents, one in Nashville, and one from Charlotte....They both really seemed to like Macey, very positive, and told us they would be getting in contact with us in a few weeks...We ended up meeting and interviewing with 8 agents during speednetworking(which lasted for 2 1/2 hours...yes, that was a lot of standing in line....we were tired...) We came to the room, ate lunch, and then we had to be back at 12:15 for Macey's callbacks....We met with 2 agents from New York, who both loved Macey...They wanted to know if we would be willing to come and stay for the summer(that is how they do it in the industry...you go stay for a few weeks/month and audition, audition, audition, while you are there...and try to get as many jobs as possible during your stay) The agent that Macey fell in love with is from Los Angeles....She was so positive...She told us" Macey could come to L.A. next week, with photos like these(holding her comp card/head shot) and I could guarantee her work next week....She is ready right now, for the industry in L.A., She has the look, and LOVE HER! Would you guys be willing to come and stay for 4-6 months, and I will show you what I am talking about.....ect. ect. " WOW!! We didn't know what to say...The biggest thing is we have prayed a lot about this, and obviously, much more prayer is going to be said over the next few weeks/months....We ran into Stephanie...and she gave Mace a high five, and told her...."I told you that you had what it takes girl!!! I knew it..." I have said it before, Our God is Good....One thing that was said in the devotional this morning....was it doesn't matter how many callbacks you get here...at AMTC, but what matters is the most important callback...with God...I loved that....because that is so true...If you don't know Jesus as your Saviour...The most important callback ever....nothing else will matter in life....

On to the Banquet...Tonight was the Awards Banquet...which was a formal affair..yes, I took lots of pics....We had a formal sit down dinner, with entertainment...and then they awarded the "Best of ..." Awards....Macey didn't receive any award at the ceremony, but we have gained so much....a trophy was not needed....Our God is So Good....Macey with Carey and Bob Lewis....who are over AMTC.....Me with the boys....Daddy with his boys....Cade loving his shirt and tie...He wanted to go to the dance too...

Macey and James are still out "partying'....They had a dance party for the contestants after the Banquet, and James took Macey, "as his date"...Which I think is so sweet...I was wiped out from standing on my feet all day with the Interviewing, so the rest is good for me...I have everything packed...and we are out of here tomorrow....but NOT to come home...NOT YET...Remember earlier this week, I mentioned ...a surprise...for the kids....?????

Kissing her date for the dance....

Doing some serious dancing....I didn't know she had it in her......=) There is Harrison with her again...He just doesn't realize he is too old for her...Hee hee....I have seen that smile all week this week....and I love it...that is Macey, truly happy!

Well, Macey Allen....Now that you have finished AMTC....What are you going to do now??????

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!

James and I are taking the kids to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow...only for one day...but one day with Mickey is better than none...Right? Cade is so excited...because he doesn't remember going before...He was only one....Well, I probably won't blog again until we get home...so, Pray for our safe traveling...and we will be home Tuesday....night....Much love...God Bless.....

AMTC, Day 3

Well, here it is, Day 3 of Convention...It is hard to believe that it is going by so fast.....Today was a "down day" for the most part....Macey had one competition...which was swimsuit...She did great....She is just a natural at this stuff....There is a lot of girls her age competing, but she does so well....she just doesn't let the "pressure" of the business get to her...She just gets up there and has fun...and comes off the stage smiling from ear to ear each and every time she competes...I am just so very proud of her....She is so confident in herself, and she is so much more mature than I ever thought about being at 8 years old....This is an absolutely amazing experience....Just listening to the agents, and directors speaking to us, getting to meet them...We even met some "stars" today...

All of Macey's AMTC group sat together tonight at the Swimsuit Competition...so everyone cheered, and applauded when Macey was on stage....and we cheered for our other group members....The Ballroom was packed...even the boys enjoyed watching this competition....After the competition...we all met together for a group photo...I took a few shots of Macey and a few of her friends she has made through AMTC....Enjoy...Here is Macey with her Director, Stephanie....She is the one who has taught her everything she needed to know for AMTC.....Macey and Tory....one of the girls she has enjoyed getting to know during our AMTC time....A couple of the boys wanted their picture made with Macey....She was cracking up....Cade couldn't resist another opportunity to get his pic made with his sissy....He loves her....Macey loves Josh...He is an awesome guy to be around...He is full of energy, and he is a phenomenal christian...He has been leading a Bible study each night during convention....I guarantee we will see him on TV/movie in the future....You can say, I saw him when.....ha ha...He cheered and cheered for Macey during her swimsuit competition...She is loving all of this attention.....This is Harrison, he is a sweet guy....and he sure likes to spend a lot of time with Macey....He swam with her today, and he is always "popping up" during her competitions...He calls her a "star" already...He is a cute little guy...but I told Macey...He is too old...He is twelve...; ) Here is Macey, where she loves to be....in the center of all of the teenagers....She loves to hang out with the "big kids"....She is so funny...They were all talking with her...and she was in heaven....Last but not least, a pic of Macey and me....even though she was so into "all of her friends" that she couldn't even look at the camera...I had to post a pic of me...The Proud Mommy....Tomorrow is the last of Macey's competitions....She has runway tomorrow....then we have lots of seminars and an opportunity to meet and speak with some stars that started in AMTC....So we have a big day tomorrow....Tomorrow night we get callbacks...and then Sunday is when we get the opportunity to meet with the agents/managers/casting directors.....So, it is a big day....

We have a formal awards banquet on Sunday night...I will be sure to take plenty of photos of us all dressed up....I am wearing a semi formal (thanks, Sarah...I am going to wear the black dress!) and Macey has a formal, and the boys are both wearing ties....It is sort of like the Academy Awards of AMTC....= ) Gonna be lots of fun....Well, I am exhausted...so I am going to bed....Hope everyone had a wonderful fourth of July...Miss everyone back home....Lots of love...

Happy Independence Day!!! Go Indians!!

Happy Fourth of July!!

I couldn't start this little post off without wishing everyone a Happy 4th....We are in the room getting ready to head to our next seminar...then we are off to the pool for the rest of the day....and the Florida Sun is shining!!!! YIPPEE!!! I know this week, I have been posting all about Macey, and her AMTC Competion....but we have a little bit of good news, that James recieved via phone call 2 days ago...I hadn 't shared yet, just due to time...but thought I would take a moment to do it now.....

The Indians All-Star team, has played in 3 tournaments up to now....(for those who don't know, and All-Star team, is the best of the kids from all of the Rec league teams where we play) Anyway, we did really well in the last tournament...(Check out Nicole's blog for pictures) I stole this 2 from her blog....Love this one of hitting busting the ball...for a home run!!!! We didn't win, but our boys played awesome!!! So, 2 nights ago, James recieved a call from the man who is over the state tournament....He wanted to "invite" the Indians to participate in the State!!! WOW!! He had spoken with a few different coaches, ect...and had heard we were a really good team, and wanted to give us this opportunity.... We were so excited about this....The ultimate goal for an All-Star team is to make it to state...and we are getting to go....Or should I say, James and Ian are getting to....After taking off to come to Florida....there is no way, I will be able to take off work, and head to Middle TN for this tournament....3 days after we get home from FL....But I am still so happy for the team...Getting ready to leave, but just wanted to say GO INDIANS!!!!!! Have a great day....Will post later today or tomorrow....God Bless....

AMTC, Day 2

Today was yet another BUSY day...We started early this morning at 8:30 with a seminar, and then straight into Macey's second competition.....She did Commercial this morning....which was really cool...She went into a "studio" and they filmed her commercial audition...The audience was sitting in the Ballroom, and we watched all of the contestants perform on 2 big screens in the ballroom...Macey had been practicing for months now...and she did good....We were so proud of her...She is the first girl in her age group....having a last name of Allen, she is used to that...So this has followed her here to AMTC...She has been the first girl in her age group to perform in three out of three competitions.....Her second competition of the day was Photography....which as many of you know, is one of her strong points....She did phenomenal....She had to walk the runway, and state her name, and age, while they were showing on the Big Screens on both sides of the runway....2 of the pictures that the NY photographer had done....A lot of her friends, from AMTC were here to support her, so she got lots of cheers, and applause....which made her day!!! (cell phone pic before the competition)

And then her last competition of the day was Cold Read....which is where they give her a commercial script 10 minutes before she takes the stage and does a "cold read" audition....She was AWESOME!!! James and I were shocked....We know she is good, but she was the first one to go, and she showed that personality, she moved around the stage, and she even was funny!!! The script they gave her was funny...It was a little sister, talking about her brothers being "wild as monkeys".....If any of you were with us in this Resort....You would see why this is so fitting....The boys are WILD!!! Even Ian....I guess they have had enough of models, and actors, and want some FUN!! Which is definitely coming.....(Surprise for the kids is coming soon!!) In between competitions...we took some pictures around the resort..... Dancing with her little brother.....

Posing for me at the "castle area"

A few other exciting things happened today...We attended a seminar that was led by an agent from NYC...She was very impressive to me...and Macey too...She has placed children in Gap, Children's Place, Justice, and Limited Too ads....Macey was so excited to listen to her....and we actually got the opportunity to speak with her...She spoke with Macey, and told her how beautiful her hair was.....The contestants get the opportunity for callbacks on Sunday...(a chance to interview with some of the agents....) and Macey would love to get a callback with her....Say a prayer....

Lots of competitions, lots of seminars, and education...But we are having a blast....Macey said today, that she LOVES this...and just prays that it is God's will for her life....One thing, that we have done is to pray with Macey before each of her competitions....God's will...Diana, put a verse on one of my comments, that Macey just loved...Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." That says it all....God knows the plans for her life...

Everyone is sacked out...including James....so I am getting off of here...I have another early day tomorrow...Macey has her swimsuit competition tomorrow....at 7pm....We have a couple of seminars tomorrow...but other than that...We plan on spending the day by the pool....The first time, since we have been here..other than an hour or two here and there.....Much love...Miss you guys...God Bless....

Happy 4th of July!!!

The Gaylord Palms

Here is a slide show of a few pictures that I took while we were walking around the Resort tonight....After the kids got done night swimming.....Sorry for adding two posts in one day...It is the most fabulous place we have ever stayed...Can't help but share.....
*added more Resort Pictures to the slideshow....hope you enjoy....

AMTC, Day One

Well, this has definitely been a busy day...Our day started this morning at 7:45 am with Orientation....We had to meet in the ballroom for a "what's going to be going on this week" meeting...Directors, from all over the country were introduced, and we were told what to expect, where to go, what "not" to do...ect....

After that Miss Mace had her dress rehearsal for her swimsuit competition....(AMTC is all about promoting natural beauty, so they require no makeup, high heels, ect...especially for children....) Here she is posing it up for me....She is having so much fun with all of this....doing her thing.....Macey is just amazing me. She loves to be the center of attention...I knew that....Here she is loving on Ian....and belive it or not, he let her....; )Of course, Cade had to get a picture with sissy.....too cute....She is having to perform in front of 100's of people, and she is so positive....and doing absolutley awesome!!! She is competing in 6 different competitions while we are here at AMTC...they are Monologue, Runway, Swimsuit, Cold Read(a script is given to her 15 minutes before she competes, and she has to perform), Commercial, and Photography......So far, she has had one competition, and that was Monologue....She did great...This is where you get up on stage, wearing a microphone, and perform a one minute monologue...in front of 8-10 agents from all over the world....plus the entire audience.....She had been practicing her monologue for months now...and she got up there...and blew us away!!!! You couldn't hardly even tell she was nervous....I am so proud...(We are not allowed to take photos during competitions due to security reasons, but we can during rehearsals.....)

From about 12-2, James and I switched roles....I went to the most awesome pool ever, and spent some quality time with the boys, while James went with Macey to meet with her director, and to a couple more rehearsals.....The weather has not been that great...but with our busy schedules...getting some sun time, doesn't look very promising....I am saving that for our beach vacation the end of July....But when I saw that blue Florida sky today, even if only for a few hours, James volunteered to let me "outside" with the boys....which was very much appreciated....
Cade being his normal silly self....Macey joined us after her workshops ended...She cracked me up coming off of this slide...It went really fast.....I think the toddler slide was the hit of the pool area for the Allen children...It knocked them over every time....Macey posing in front of the sprinklers.... The Gaylord is divided into different sections....Key West (where we are staying)... This is the center of the Resort right outside our wing....This is a restauraunt on the boat, the water is stock full of stingrays, and fish...Cade and Ian love it....Beautiful.....It is as if we were actually in Key West, Florida....So cool....There are other areas...The Everglades, St. Augustine...I will be taking many more resort photos...so be prepared....And this fountain is right where we get off of the elevator....These pictures just don't do this Resort justice....I will post more of them later.....
We also attended 2 seminars today concerning acting and modeling for children...Macey just loves all of this...and the great thing about this week....is the focus on God....God has not only been mentioned in every ballroom, every seminar, and every workshop that I have attended with Macey...The very first group meeting that we attended was ended in a prayer, by Lexie Arban, who is over AMTC....I am so glad that Macey was given this opportunity...If nothing else comes from it, she has already gained so much....God is so Good.....Well, the kids have went down to the pool to swim....and Mommy needed some "blogging" time.....Gotta keep you guys updated...right? We plan on getting to bed fairly early tonight....Macey's biggest day is tomorrow....She has 3 competitions...Photography, Cold Read, and TV Commercial...So, remember her (and us) in your prayers.... I know I rambled a lot....but we are having a great time.....Lots and Lots to do....Miss you guys back home....Will post more tomorrow....Much Love...(Thanks for all the comments!!! I let Miss Macey read them, and she smiled the entire time....)

We are Here!!!

We made it safe and sound...and I am sitting in my fantabulous room at the Gaylord Palms Resort!! We are all getting ready to go downstairs to Maceys' Orientation and Registration.....so remember Miss Mace today in your prayers......She doesn't have any actual competitions today..but she has a few rehearsals/practices....Her first competition is tomorrow....
We did have some bad weather to travel in...I got my camera out and shot a few pics....It was scary..We actually decided to stop and have lunch at Cracker Barrel to see if any of the bad weather passed...but we pretty much drove in it to Orlando....Thanks to my mom and dad for being our personal "weather people"...They called and told us where the storm was, and kept us updated....Well, as promised...here are a few pictures from our first day...mostly traveling, and when we got to our room last night.....This was right outside Orlando...We were just about to drive out of it right here.....We made it...This is just a picture of a side entrance....I will probably take 200 pictures of the resort alone....It is unbelievable....so be prepared....I will try not to post too many...= )Everyone tired after driving all day....ready for baths and bed....Me and James..... I will update later today or tomorrow...Keep us in your prayers....
