School Parties

Today was filled with Christmas parties for the kids...Cade got to go back to school today for the first time since Monday...He had to miss 2 days because of strep throat..so he was so happy he didn't have to miss his class party....and the kids had a great time. This was the first year that James got to go too...and he enjoyed getting to see the kids with their friends, and in the classroom...something he doesn't get to do often....Of course, we took some photos to help us remember the day.....One more 1/2 day of school, and they are out for Christmas break..Yippee!!! Cade making some reindeer food...very crafty little guy; )Posing for a picture with Mommy...Gotta love that face...He is my baby...Daddy with his boy...Cade had Santa visit his class today...The funny thing about it was, he said..."Mommy, I know that wasn't the real Santa-because he had cotten glued to his eyebrows...and they were brown underneath"...We cracked up at him....He is just too smart!On to Miss Macey's party...It is very difficult to be at two parties at the same time, but we did it...we just flipped back and forth from one to the other....Here is Macey and her best friend, Alexis....Their theme, was winter and they made snowflake ornaments and a few other "snowy" crafts....Macey thought she should wear her polar bear shirt...trying to go with the theme....Hmmm...wonder where she would get a thought like that? Macey, Alexis, and her teacher, Mrs. Moorlegen working on the silouette ornament...I love this one!!! Can't wait to get it on the tree....Sophia, and Macey making their beaded snowflakes....Macey and MommyDaddy squeezing Mace...He almost made her fall over...He loves to be a pest to the kids...and he sure does a good job of it...=)We had a great day...then it was supper, homework, and basketball practice...One more day, and we all get a break...James and the kids are all off next week...I still have to work, but I am off Monday-Thursday with them....so we are looking forward to spending some quality time together....I love family time...We are going to be having a candy making day with our Sunday School class on Saturday..I will be sure to take pictures of that...The kids are looking forward to it, and then we are going to take the candy to some shut ins from our church...Hope everyone has a great weekend....God Bless....

Catching up...

Well, I finally am back on track with my computer and pictures....=) Thanks to a good friend...So, wanted to post a few pics from the past couple of weeks, that I have taken, and not gotten to post yet....Here is a pic of the kids a couple of Saturday's ago...We were all just sitting inside watching movies, when we looked outside and it was snowing!!! The kids were so excited, and got outside to play as soon as they could get ready! This a pic of the kids at the Shadrack's light show in an area town...We actually got in trouble for taking this photo...You were not supposed to get out of your cars...but I asked the person who told us to get back inside our vehicles, if I could take a photo...I told her I was a scrapbooker...and she let me ;)

Then, the other day we brought the cats upstairs to attempt to get some pics of them..since we haven't in a while....and here is the results...I love them...=) I know, who would have ever thought that I would be a cat person...Hee hee...I was attempting to get Sadie's profile...thought this one turned out pretty good....

This one is my all time fav...Milly went under the tree and just made herself at home...and this was the shot I got....LOVE IT!

Me and my little Sadie...She is rotten, and we think she may be deaf...She can't seem to hear us when we call for her...and last week, she was gone for almost 3 days, and we found her in our attic....So, we were all very happy to get her home...safe and sound....

2008 Christmas Tour of Homes

Well, over at BooMama's she is doing a Christmas tour of homes...so here is my addition...Welcome to the Allen's.......My front door...Grape vine angel...Love her...with my sled...too cute...=)Right inside my door is this ceramic Santa and Miss Santa...that my mom made when I was little...I love it...

My kitchen....love to put a little bit of Christmas all through the house... This is on my other counter in my kitchen...Made the snow man lamp at a Women's Luncheon at church...

A tile that a friend made for us...too cute....My table centerpiece....country table runner...from my fav store...Target...

My Christmas cards....We always hang them on the door to the den and around the door facing...I love seeing all of the cards we get from our friends and family....

My mantle....full of photos...and our stockings hung by the chimney with care....

The true meaning of Christmas...Jesus...Our nativity, James and I bought the first year we were married....We only have 2 wisemen...and no sheperd...but it is still precious to us...I posted some pictures of my tree last Friday, so I am not going to post them again...Just check it out....Had fun! Laptop is still down....

No luck with the laptop yet...but still working on it...Just keep praying....The pictures are very important to me...not only my client's photos, but our families as well....Hopefully we will get everything recovered....As a good friend, or two, or three, said to me yesterday....(you know who you are) I might want to ask Santa for an external hard drive for Christmas....to back up all of my photos....I have learned the hard way....Believe me...I just hope I get my pictures back....Ok...enough of my computer drama...I know it bothers me more than anyone....As far as my clients' go....Guys...I will let you know as soon as I find out something myself...hopefully today or tomorrow....just be patient with me...Ok?

Well, other than stressing over my pictures all weekend, I decided to try and get my mind off of it, and headed to Old Navy on Saturday morning with Miss Macey for an awesome door buster sale...They had tons of shirts on sale for $5...and considering Ian doesn't have anything that fits that is long sleeved, it was def a worthwhile trip....plus Macey and I had a great time shopping together...Girls Day Out....On our way home, we stopped by our good friends, Duffer and Nicole's house...to get the grand tour of their new home, and catch up....Had a great time with them, and even came back later in the afternoon with James and the boys...so they could get the New home tour also....=) Saturday night, the youth at our church had a Parent's Night Out, and they watched the boys-with donations going to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering....while Macey and I went to her first ballet...The Nutcracker...(cell phone pic-not so good)She loved it...I have seen it before, but had a great time watching Macey take it all in...She is taking ballet, and watching this one, made her even more excited about what she is learning....I enjoyed spending the day with my girl...Doesn't happen often...but love it when it does....A special thanks to the Wallen's for picking the boys up from church for me...so I could attend the Nutcracker with Miss Mace...Love you guys...

Well, gonna get off of here, and place my last few cards in the mail, and run a few errands....Hope everyone has a great week....4 and 1/2 days of school until Christmas Break!!! Yippee!!!!

My Dell is Sick =(

No, I am not kidding....My computer crashed...I have been a little stressed over this whole situation, that began today....I was on the phone this evening with "Samit" from Dell technical support for over an hour, with no luck....I have a friend whose husband is a computer genius...so I called him...and right now, he has my laptop...Say a prayer...for my laptop....I am blogging from a desk top right now....I have TONS of pictures on that computer that are not saved to anything else...this is very upsetting to me.... {tear}

On to a happier subject, we had an awesome weekend!!! On Friday, we had our Sunday School Christmas party, and had a great time with our friends...I love our friends, and our church family....On Saturday, we sat around, watched movies, and it began SNOWING!!! The kids were so excited, that they got dressed and went out in it as soon as they could...they had a blast....and I got some awesome pictures...but because they are lost someplace in the depths of my Dell...I can't post them right now...Hopefully, I will be able to soon....{tear, again} Then, we were all in the "Christmas Mood"...and loaded up into the car and went to see some Christmas lights in Bristol...It was called Shadrack's...and it was AWESOME!!! We had a great time, and the kids loved how the lights were set to music...Here is a video of the lights...Enjoy!

Christmas Tree Friday

Well, I am going to go along with my friend, Beth, and participate in Christmas Tree Friday...I will post a few pictures that I just took of my tree and a few of my favorite ornaments....I am in my fleece pj's, while everyone in the house is asleep, and I am photographing my tree...Hee hee...I just laughed at myself...just so I could come over here to the laptop and post the pics on my blog...I think I have a problem....=) Oh well, problem or not...Here goes....I only put up one tree....One is more than enough for me...I took this picture of our den....I love it...Lamp light makes me happy....

Here is my tree...I love it...It is so pretty...and so "us"...We put anything and everything on our tree....Things we love, places we have been, crafts the kids have made....you name it...it is probably on there....I love my grapevine star...with country red berries....loving the light on the ceiling....Ian's ornament...when he was little...too cute...always makes me smile....James and Cassie's First Christmas Together Ornament...We got this at the place in Pigeon Forge...We were so proud of this one.... My NYC memory....We love this one....Cade's contribution to the tree...all of the cartoon characters about 2 inches from the floor....but I can't bring myself to spread them out, or move them....so they just hang very close to the floor....It is finished...James bought this for me...and I think it represents all the Christmas is to us....Jesus was born in a manger many, many years ago...to become our Saviour...Remember during the entire month of December...why we celebrate Christmas.....Merry Christmas....

Macey's Blog

My daughter Macey has a blog, but doesn't quite have the obsession that I do...=) Anyway, she and I changed her blog up last night, and she has a couple of new posts....She wanted me to decorate hers for Christmas too...Since we are in the Christmas spirit around here....=) She also asked me to do a post about it, so she might get some readers...hee hee...She is my daughther....So here it is...Check out Macey's blog...and if you do...Leave her a comment...It will make for one Happy little girl!!! Yes...My Couch is REALLY Outside

So many of you guys have asked me if my couch is really outside? or is it a Photoshop technique? I have been laughing at the comments...You guys are funny....I will answer this question, and surprise many of you....Yes...My couch is really outside....James and I carried it out there....and carried the kids out to it one at a time, so not to get it dirty....There isn't anything I wouldn't attempt for an awesome picture!!!! =) The ground was frozen...so not even one drop of mud/dirt got on my couch....This was an idea I had a few years ago, and just hadn't done it yet...So a few weeks ago when it snowed....I thought it was the PERFECT time for my "idea".....Glad you guys thought I was that good at Photoshop...I wish I was, but not quite....Thanks for the comments...
